Amusing day it was today. :D
Basically, more people were enlightened on Yinfei's obsession-hopping tendencies.
It was Lit, see, and we were supposed to be finding some stuff on themes or whatever for Handmaid, which our group sort of gave up on midway. Then it was CLE, but we continued flipping randomly through Handmaid, and me and Zhihua moaned about Offred's utter randomness which we completely (ok fine, not completely) are unable to comprehend. Incidentally, that's what attracted Zhixin to the text. -.-"
Anyway, I quite understandably got extremely bored by it, and seeing it was already CLE anyway, I promptly took a nap on the table. Then for some reason, Leeqi and co. started discussing music with Mr Sakhar, and at some point, Michael Buble was mentioned. Note that Michael Buble was a very very minor obsession at some point in the past.
Yinfei: -snapsheadup- WHAT! -realizesthatshehasspokentooloudly- whoops nevermind.
Mr Sakhar: Wah, Yinfei suddenly sprang up! Better check her heart beat!(peoplestartlaughing)
Yinfei: ohcrap.
Leeqi: You know, she liked the phantom ok! You know the phantom of the opera?
Mr Sakhar: Oh, did you watch it?
Yinfei and Zhihua: YESYESYES! -nodvigorously-
Mr Sakhar: Oh I liked the phantom. He was the only one I liked ok! The rest were like -makesgesturewithhand-
Yinfei and Zhihua: YESYESYES!
Mr Sakhar: But the phantom was good. -nods-
Leeqi (I'm going to kill her lor, she started it!): You know last year she liked Jack Merridew!
Mr Sakhar: Who?
Leeqi: You know lord of the flies!
Yinfei: -grabs nearest thing to her, which happens to be youth day donation packet, and covers face in utter embarassment- OHSHIT.
Mr Sakhar: So who does she like this year?
Ahem, and Zhimin chooses this very auspicious moment to make the announcement.
Mr Sakhar: OH Rafael Nadal! Ok, objectively speaking, he has a very good bod lah. But his face is ok only. Did you see him at the french open? All the muscles!
Rita and Zhihua then decided to quote phrases like "hotbod", "muscles", and "rafa" at least ten times to Yinfei, who after much efforts, had managed to calm down, only to be sent straight back to fangirl-land by the evil Rita and Zhihua.
Mr Sakhar: Eh, you better calm her down!
He later noted that "It's usually the quiet ones." Ohgreat.
So later, Zhimin comes and says, "Yinfei! Xie chuan already ah!" Yeah it's her lor!
Hmmm I think beginner's guide to rafa a.k.a. squeakipidia article is due to appear.

Eh, someone tell me what to blog about.
After rambling and ranting on and on about french open, I realize I have nothing else to say. Whooops. Nevermind, wimbledon in 5 days, so I'll have stuff to say again then. XD
Yesterday I saw the newspaper article on spanish premiera liga (or however it's spelt), about the finals between real madrid and real mallorca. Don't worry, I'm not turning into a football fan, I was only drawn to the article cos it had a picture of Rafa watching the match. XD He's a football fan, see, and he supports real madrid (which won eventually btw). The first thing I thought was "OMG!!!" *squeals*. The next thing I thought was "What the heck is he still doing in Spain, like shouldn't he be in UK
practicing?!?" I suppose he just returned from the Artois championships in UK, but shouldn't he stay there to train? I mean, five days to Wimbledon!
Ok nevermind. I've been watching the old Wimbledon library films! The 70s was HILARIOUS. The guys wear these super short and tight shorts, and their shirts are
completely tucked in. Then there're the super-high socks. I was laughing non-stop throughout the film, until my father informed me that he used to dress like that too when playing tennis, as modelled after his idol Jimmy Connors. Now that's a real first-class nerd. The only one I can tolerate from the old times is John McEnroe, cos he was pretty cool. At least his shirt wasn't tucked in. >.< For the ladies, I like Chris Evert, cos she was cool too. Ankle socks, would you believe it? And her outfit's real nice too. Apparently she and Jimmy Connors used to be the golden couple of tennis at that time. Both of them won Wimbledon the same year, and according to my dad, Wimbledon has this tradition of male champion dancing with female champion at the celebration dinner or something. It got me thinking about Roger Federer having to dance with both Venus and Serena Williams when they won together, and I couldn't stop laughing after that. :D Then I wondered if they had that tradition too at french open, and I tried imagining Rafa dancing with Justine Henin. Three times too, cos they're both triple defending champions. It was damn funny, cos Henin is much shorter than Rafa, and looks much older too. But I like Henin, she's my favorite female player. She's really serious about the game and focuses on it like anything (unlike a certain Maria Sharapova). When she prepares to receive, she looks like a tigress getting ready to pounce on her prey.
19 year old Fedex reminds me of Will Turner. XD What with the ponytail, headband and beaded necklace. First-class pirate. I became slightly more partial towards him after seeing him when he was six years younger.
Whoops, did I just say that I had nothing to say? XD
Ok, because I have nothing better to do, I shall post the current world rankings here.
1. Roger Federer
2. Rafael Nadal
3. Andy Roddick
4. Nikolay Davydenko
5. Novak Djokovic
6. Fernando Gonzalez
7. Tommy Robredo
8. Andrew Murray
9. James Blake
10. Tommy Haas
11. Thomas Berdych
12. Richard Gasquet

15. David Ferrer
16. Marcos Baghdatis
17. Guillermo Canas
18. Juan Carlos Ferrero

Ok that's it. Wheee.

Last post on french open! :(( Buuuuuuut not the last on tennis, cos Wimbledon starts in two weeks! :D June 25, to be precise. Wheeeee. But that might not be as nice, cos grass was never Rafa's specialty, it's clay. But then again, he reached the finals of Wimbledon last year, only to lose to FedEx (grrr). Well at least he dragged it up to four sets! ;) And he did say in an interview that he's looking to extend his domination beyond clay, and that he's getting better. Soooo Vamos Rafa! Yayyy.
AND HE SO THRASHED FEDEX AT RG! :DD 6-3 4-6 6-3 6-4. SEE no need for tie breakers even. Or 7-5 scores. Fine it wasn't a straight set win but who cares. I was so delighted after he snagged the first set that I imitated his fist pumps. :D Then after second set, the clawing of self came back once again. If I don't watch out I might end up with Erik-worthy disfigurements. I didn't dare to watch part of the third set cos I was pretty nerve-wrecked by then (and what a pity too, the live commentary on the RG webbie said he changed his shirt after the third set!). Anyway I returned to the TV cautiously and was informed by my irate Mum that Rafa had gotten the third set (she supports FedEx). So I plonked myself back down onto the couch and continued watching the match. Then of course he got the fourth set, and I did more fist pumping and went to the kitchen to get some strawberries to celebrate. :D Wheeee. FedEx hit a forehand down the line long at championship point, and Rafa flung his racket from him, and left a butt print on the red clay of RG, where he became the first man since Bjorn Borg to win three consecutive RG titles! Yayyy go for fourth consecutive title next year Rafa! :DD After all, who can beat him here? FedEx's getting older, and Rafa's getting stronger. My dad and the newspaper both say that unless Rafa gets an injury, he's going to continue winning on clay. Yeah baby. VAMOS RAFA! ENHORABUENA!
P.S.: Rock the grass of Wimby too! :))

I realize I'm updating far more often nowadays. :D After today, though, I'm afraid this blog's gonna go back to comatose state for some time.
Henin totally trashed Ivanovic! 6-1, 6-2 (or was it the other way round?). Well, it was expected anyway. Remember I said sure win for Henin? Ivanovic can't hold a candle to her. So now she's been hailed queen of clay, and rightly so, cos that's her third consecutive Roland Garros title, as well as her fourth in five years. Really, she has no true rival yet.
Anyway, today's men's finals! Nadal vs Federer. Rafa fought through the semis against Djokovic 7-5 6-4 6-2. Ok, first set was seriously nerve-wrecking. More clawing and self-destruction from yours truly. Fine, Djokovic was really good, I admit. His service is really powerful. Rafa had to struggle to break him. But most of the time, Djoker held his serve. But at least Rafa held his too! Yeah, so I managed to watch only the first two sets, cos the Federer-Davydenko match took so freaking long (three hours!) that the Nadal-Djokovic one was delayed. Meaning that after two sets, it was about 1 a.m.? Ok, so that isn't exactly late when compared with the sleeping hours of night owls Dr Idiot, Insane and Dustbin, but for me, it really is. Not that I minded though. My mum, however, was yelling and shouting about my staying up so late, and promptly attacked the TV with the remote control. Despite my whining and protests, she hauled me off to bed. Actually, I stayed up till two to watch the Nadal-Hewitt match, and I was trying to use that as persuasion to assure my mum that I could take staying up for the last set (hopefully it would be!), but didn't work. Awww. Anyway, no sweat, cos Rafa trashed the Djoker in the last set 6-2.
FINALLLLLLLS TONIGHT! Crap, I'm so nervous. Ok, let's look at this rationally. If Davydenko could have led in all three sets against Federer, then surely the prince of clay can. And Davydenko only let Federer claw back up to a win cos he was the underdog, and wasn't used to being in the lead, or so my dad the expert says. But the prince is the double defending champion, hello, he's used to leading and winning. And he's certainly not the underdog. So he WON'T let Federer claw back up. He's not the type who'll lose his lead. Soooooo......straight set win for Rafa oh yeah! VAMOS RAFA!

Men's semifinals today!
Women's one was yesterday. So we had Ana Ivanovic vs Maria Sharapova, and Justine Henin vs Jelena Jankovic. Sharapova's seriously not on form. Ivanovic trashed her 6-2 6-1 (if I remember correctly). It was almost 6-0 for the last set too, only Maria started fighting like anything towards the end to save her face. Imagine the former world no. 1 losing 6-0 to a teen. Ivanovic's lucky she was drawn to play Maria, really, cos I doubt she would have stood a chance against Jankovic, and certainly not Henin. So it's her first grand slam final, or at least that's what they say in the news (once again, if I remember correctly). She plays Henin, who trounced Jankovic, in the finals. Meaning sure win for Henin.
Men's semis are currently on now. Federer vs Davydenko (GO NIKOLAY!). Davydenko was leading 4-2 at first, but stupid he allowed Federer to claw back and take the set 7-5. But he's currently leading the second set 5-4, so I hope he'll take this one. Imagine Tommy Robredo being able to take a set off Federer, and Davydenko not being able to! Nononono. I expect him to take at least one set. Of course, it'd be better if he finished Federer off, so that he'd play Nadal in the finals, and of course, lose. :D Ok, devious is me. Nadal'll be playing Novak Djokovic later on. Straight set win!
Tomorrow'll be women's finals, and Sunday, men's. Then no more French open. :(((((( Whyyyyyyyyyy. I was so happy these past two weeks. Sob.
Oh crap, 5-5. Whyyyyy. Come on Nikolay! At least he's giving Federer a tough time. If Federer has to claw a win against Davydenko, then I hope he'll lose in the finals against Nadal eventually. My dad likens him to Maria Sharapova. :D
Ok, gonna get off the com now. Shall go watch the match. Ta-ta.

Right, more on French open. :)
Sorry, bear with me. I'm afraid I won't be blogging about anything else until French open's over. Wheee. OH and scroll down to post below ok, I insist that that post will not go unseen. XD
Anyway!
Rafa's still in the competition! (Like duh). He strolled past Juan Martin del Potro, Cipolla and fellow countryman Montanes, no sweat. The Hewitt match was pretty nerve-wrecking in the third set. First two sets were a breeze for our prince, but third set, Hewitt kinda bounced back. Shall quote from live commentary on Roland Garros webbie...
"Two sets down, but no worries, our Hew's a five-set man."
"Hew's a slow starter, but this isn't really ideal, is it. Slow starts are fine for other folks, but not against the floppy-haired, capri-panted Marjocan king of clay."
For anyone who doesn't know, the floppy-haired, capri-panted Marjocan king of clay in question is Rafa. :)
Hewitt's always been like that. In all his matches at RG thus far, he's been forcing the match into four or five sets. Like mentioned before, slow starter, he is. But does that work against Rafa? NO.
So third set was pretty scary, cos Hewitt forced a tie-breaker, and broke Rafa a few times too. You can still see the marks on my feet and arms where I clawed at in pure anxiety. :D But no worries, Rafa saved the tie-breaker and the match, and gained his place in the quarter finals, where he'll meet apparent ex-mentor and fellow countryman Carlos Moya. Who's nine years older than him, by the way. Like that matters though. Anyway.
Federer's actually getting pretty good on clay, the tricky thing. He's been learning clay court tricks, no doubt. I fear for Rafa. If he meets him in the finals, he's gonna have a bit of a tough time. He might even lose! Zomg! No! He's playing ninth seed (or so I think) Tommy Robredo now, and though I haven't got high hopes at all, I'm still keeping my fingers crossed for Robredo to finish him off for Rafa. Not very likely though. Fed won the first set and lost the second, and then won the third again. Now he's leading the fourth. Oh darn. Nevermind, I hope he'll meet Davydenko next, who'll have a better chance of finishing him off. Sorry, Roger, I don't have anything against you, but a girl's gotta support her obsession, right? XD
Side note: Suprise exits from all nine USA men in the first round, including third seed Andy Roddick (Zhimin will be pleased), James Blake, and uh, who else? Anyway, Fernando Gonzalez (fifth seed I think) was also knocked out in the first round. Ooh.
Is everyone superbly bored already? If anyone actually got this far. Whoops.
OK NOW LOOK AT THE POST BELOW!
P.S.: Bimbo list will be up as soon as we have finalized it on Dr Idiot's blog!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE PRINCE OF CLAY! :)
Now you're allowed to watch R21 movies. XD
And you're so gonna win this.
